Learning Goals
Hold your own in any Russian conversation, from heated workplace debates to subtle jokes with friends. Get comfortable reading news, opinion pieces, and literature, extracting the meaning—even when the details are nuanced. Write emails, reports, or social posts that sound truly authentic. Whether you seek to advance your career, study, or just enjoy Russian media fully, this course equips you to participate at a truly advanced level.
Skills you Gain
You’ll express your opinion on complex topics clearly and with nuance. Discussions with colleagues or friends won’t leave you searching for words. You’ll follow fast-paced conversations, arguments, and real news. Reading Russian novels or newspapers will feel manageable—even enjoyable. Your writing—emails, reports, stories—will come across as professional, not stilted. You’ll recognize sarcasm, humor, and shades of meaning in real conversations.
Course Content
Every session is built around real-life tasks—presenting ideas, debating issues, and solving problems in Russian. You’ll work in a small group, getting individual feedback and pushing each other to dig deeper. Mistakes aren’t just corrected; you’ll learn to self-correct and notice patterns for yourself. The teacher guides every discussion clearly in English where needed, so nothing important is lost. You’ll leave every class a little more confident—and with real strategies for tackling tricky native content.
Requirements
You only need a reliable internet connection and your smartphone or laptop. Previous B2-level Russian is essential—reading articles, understanding films, and discussing current events should already feel possible. Motivation for regular, intensive speaking and listening is a must. Be prepared to engage actively, complete tasks between classes, and give feedback to others. Your engagement is key to your rapid progress.
